Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy sets out how Biodefine Ltd, trading as Findthevalueof, collects, uses, shares and protects personal information across the website and app. It covers item photos, account details, payments handled by Stripe, cookies, retention periods and your rights under UK data protection law. What information Findthevalueof collects

Two kinds. What you provide: photos and descriptions of items you upload, any notes you add, your email address and password (stored only as a hashed and salted credential by Firebase Authentication), payment details handled by Stripe, and the contents of messages you send us. What is collected automatically: your IP address and approximate city-level location, device and browser type, usage data such as pages viewed and features used, first-party cookies that keep you signed in and track credit use, and diagnostic logs. Full card numbers and security codes are never stored.

Who else sees your photos, and how long data is kept

Item photos and descriptions are sent to Google, Anthropic and SerpAPI to produce the identification, the comparable sales and the written report. Each acts as a processor under a written contract that bars them from selling your data or reusing it for unrelated training. Retention is set per data type: photos and reports until you delete them, with permanent deletion from primary storage within 30 days and from backups within 90 days; payment and contact records up to seven years; security logs up to 12 months; analytics events up to two years. Inactive accounts get an email check-in at 24 months.

Your rights, cookies, and reading the full policy

Your data is never sold or rented, and customer photos and valuation results are never used on the public Examples page or in any marketing — everything shown publicly comes from the team's own items or from separately granted permission. Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, erase, restrict, or port your data, and withdraw consent; write to privacy@findthevalueof.com. Accounts can be deleted at any time from the Account page. Cookies fall into essential, preferences, analytics (opt-in) and a fraud-check category, and preferences can be changed at any time.
