Sample Reports is a gallery of published valuation reports from Findthevalueof, each one produced for a real item — porcelain, handbags, prints, watches, classic cars. Open any report to see the estimate range, the comparable sales cited behind it, condition notes, and the reasoning that connects the photographs to the figure.

What a sample report is

Each page in this gallery is a full valuation report for a real object, published in the same layout a customer's own report uses — the same sections, in the same order, with the same evidence attached. The items span porcelain and cloisonné, luxury handbags, signed prints, wristwatches, mantel clocks and collector cars. Estimates are given as ranges rather than single figures. Newest examples appear first, and the gallery grows as more categories are covered.

How to read a report

Open any example and the report runs in a set order. Item Overview covers era, maker, category and distinctive features. Research shows the trail of evidence behind the identification, with each line linking back to its source. Important Info lists the details that drive value. Market Analysis covers where the item sells and through which venues. Comparable Sales gives what buyers actually paid. The Story, Condition Assessment, Estimate Basis, Methodology and Ownership Information follow.

Where the estimate comes from

The figure at the top of each report is a range, and the Comparable Sales section is the evidence behind it: recent transactions for items in the same family — auction lot results, dealer listings, online sales — with dates and links, so you can check them yourself rather than take the number on trust. Estimate Basis then shows the working: how those comparable sales were weighed alongside condition and the likely selling venue to arrive at the range.

Browsing examples by category

The gallery filters by category, and only categories with at least one published example appear: Fine Art, Asian Art, Decorative Art, Furniture, Watches & Jewellery, Collectables, Arms, Armour & Militaria, Classic Cars and Vintage Fashion. Each card shows the category, the item, its estimate range and a short note on what the research turned up. Choose "Read full analysis" on any card to open the whole report.

What a report from photographs cannot settle

Every report here is built from photographs, and the reports say so. Condition Assessment grades the wear that is visible, flags any restoration that can be spotted, and states plainly what only a hands-on inspection can confirm — a clock movement that has not been run, blind stamps and serial numbers that need reading in person, a work on paper best seen under proper light. Those caveats sit inside the report, next to the estimate, not hidden at the end.
